DRAFT NOTIFICATION.

Recruitment for Police in China.

In accordance with an arrangement agreed upon by the Home, Colonial, and Indian Governments, it is hereby notified that, with effect from 1st January 1907, all Indian recruits required for the Police in China will be selected by the Recruiting Staff of the Indian Army, through whose agency alone men will be entertained for such service. The local recruitment of natives of India by Colonial and Municipal Administrations, in their own settlements, will cease entirely.

Applications for employment in the Police of Hong-Kong, Shanghai, and Tientsin, should be made to the Recruiting Staff Officer charged with the recruitment of the classes to which the applicants belong.
